WolframResearch發佈了Mathematica的第7個版本，它如今能做得已經遠超過符號計算
。Mathematica7.0最值得關注的功能是引入了並行計算，可以充分發揮多核處理器的計
算能力。其它的新特性包括與MicrosoftWord公式編輯器簡單的粘貼整合，數學對象
的即時3D模型，可能是有史以來最昂貴的Photoshop克隆——內置圖像處理和分析功能等
。

Mathematica提供了基因組、化學、氣象、天文學、金融、測地學數據的完整支援，令其
成為科學研究不可或缺的工具。

在在美國德克薩斯州舉行的超級計算大會(SC08)上，WolframResearch宣佈新版通用計
算軟體Mathematica7將支援NVIDIACUDAGPU並行計算技術。

據稱，融入CUDA技術的Mathematica7可以在數學運算、建模、模擬和視覺計算等方面獲
得10倍甚至100倍的性能提升，而且不需要用戶另外學習或者編寫C語言代碼。

配合NVIDIA同時發佈的Tesla個人超級電腦，Mathematica7可以在桌面上執行複雜的數
據計算任務，免除了編寫原生C程式或等待公共集群的麻煩，為研究人員節省大量的工作
時間。

支援CUDA加速的新版Mathematica7將在2009年第一季度提供，而剛剛發佈的普通版
Mathematica7已經面世，在12個應用領域增加了500多個新功能，包括圖像處理、並行
高性能計算、向量場視覺化、布爾數學體系運算、統計模式分析等等。

Mathematica可以說是世界上最強大的通用計算系統，自1988年首次發佈以來已經擁有數
百萬用戶，對如何在科技和其它領運用電腦有著深刻的影響，並成為許多機構的標準工
具，比如財富50強的所有公司、美國gov15個主要機構、全球最大的50所大學等等。

Mathematica7支援Windows2000/XP/Vista、MacOSX、Linuxx86、Solaris、
UltraSPARC/x86等平台，建議零售價2495美元(北美)或3120美元(亞洲)，還提供1095/
1315美元的教育版和140美元的學生版
